ABOUT YOUR TEACHER
Susan Wright is a lover of all things paper and founder of Born In Paper!
It is fair to say Susan’s obsession for the beautiful textures, colours, even the smell of printing and paper, has quite literally been ingrained in her since birth.
Growing up in a family printing business in Byron Bay meant hands on with everything. Binding note pads, collating, sorting lead type or dusting gold and silver wedding stationery.
For years, Susan was taking office waste from her work place and re-cycling it into handmade papers. Now, Byron Shire businesses provide her shreds of waste to start the beautiful process of making hand made paper, where she creates wedding stationery, journals and anything handmade paper. Susan shares her passion with her Born In Paper work-shops, and those who attend often say “this is a workshop we don't want it to end” making as much paper as they can.
